The leadership team met Monday evening to map out the following strategy for relaunching our various services. We are using the guidelines Governor Holcomb has instituted for the state of Indiana.
We will continue “YouTube” services for the month of May on Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. We realize churches have been given the “green light” to congregate again, but as I stated last Sunday, we will not rush back to our services hastily.
- The primary reason is for the safety of our flock. Even though the curve has flattened, we need to make sure that there are not flare ups that make us rethink meeting together.
- Secondly, the logistics of meeting together, proper social distancing and proper cleaning methods will take time to coordinate.
We will have a special graduation service for the six seniors and their immediate families on May 31. By then we will have upgraded our video equipment and be able to live stream the service to the rest of the flock.
I would encourage you to begin a small group Bible study in your area if you feel comfortable. On our website is a complete Bible study by Jim and Sandy Cornell entitled Birth to Earth that can be downloaded. It not only has an adult study but activities for the children as well.
Beginning the week of June 1, we will have a one hour worship service on both Wednesday and again on Thursday evening beginning at 7 pm. You will be asked to sign up ahead of time if you wish to attend. We will film one of the services and have it on YouTube the following Sunday. We understand some may not be comfortable returning at this time. There will be much more detail posted about this format on our website. This format will continue through the month of June.
We will return to our “regularly scheduled programming” on July 5.
All of this is very fluid and is subject to change in either direction at any time.
